An excellent opportunity has arisen for an efficient and hardworking Commercial Partnerships and Event Manager to join the British Superbike Championship team, based at Brands Hatch.

The MotorSport Vision group (MSV) is Europe's largest motor racing circuit operator with five circuits in the UK alone, and MSVR (the in-house race organising division) is the promoter and organiser of the internationally-renowned, spectacular British Superbike Championship, commonly known as BSB. 

The nature and scope of the role is to provide project and commercial partner sales and servicing support to the BSB Series Director.   You'll be responsible for providing a full service function for a portfolio of commercial partners both on and off events as well as researching new prospects and exploiting all elements of the series commercial rights.

Success will combine delivering on financial targets, carefully managing income and expenditure budgets, and ensuring that all commercial partners have a fantastic event experience and activate in line to expectations established in their various rights packages.

The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator and be proactive in working with colleagues to deliver phenomenal project delivery. Strong commercial acumen and an eye for detail are also essential.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Reporting to and working closely with the BSB Series Director, you will work from concept to delivery assisting in delivering the events while providing a seamless offering to clients. You will assume the responsibility for specific areas of the operation and perform roles as required on build up to and during event days. This role is an exciting, hands-on position, involving sales, on-site event management and planning, through to reporting.

You will also develop together with the Series Director a strategic and financial plan for commercial income generation, alongside a marketing and communications strategy to achieve it.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assisting the BSB Series Director with commercial and client event delivery from prospecting through to post event assessment. 
  • Co-ordinate relevant information with other departments within the venues
  • Promptly responding to supplier queries
  • Conducting site visits
  • Ensuring commercial budgets are managed, updated and adhered to
  • Completing and updating commercial event delivery plans for each event
  • Organising appropriate hospitality and on-site arrangements for each event
  • Ensuring that all signage, branding and communications plans are agreed and deployed
  • Working with each partner to deliver all contracted rights
  • Preparing post-event reports on media and brand exposure coverage
  • Preparing bespoke presentation documents for current and prospective partners
  • Building and maintaining strong industry and agency relationships
  • Assisting in the set-up and breakdown of events as and when required
  • Delivering events that are successful for both the partners, their guests and the business
  • Providing event and seasonal assessment and reporting to partners and securing their ongoing business
  • Approaching the role from an entrepreneurial perspective, exploring new opportunities and working closely with the team on creative ideas for outreach and marketing

TO APPLY FOR THE ROLE YOU MUST BE / HAVE:

  • A proven track record in all aspects of the lifecycle of a commercial partnership 
  • Experience in promoting, marketing and operating events
  • First class client handling skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to live events
  • Experience in event management within a venue or an events company
  • A creative flair and the ability to provide solutions to operational challenges
  • An effective problem solver
  • A desire to be part of a small but highly ambitious and capable team
  • Business savvy and an enterprising attitude
  • Ability to multitask
  • Flexible/adaptable and calm under pressure
  • Ability to work outside of normal 9-5 office hours, including weekends and public holidays at circuits across both the UK and Europe
  • Experience in the motorsport industry, however this is preferred, not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
